ALLENTOWN, Pa. (10/18/17)- Sabrina Pascarella scored the lone goal as the Kean University women's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie with Muhlenberg College on Wednesday evening.
The Cougars record now stands at 10-5-1 overall, while the Mules record now stands at 4-7-3 overall.
KU was the first to response, when Pascarella scored off an assist from Kelly Williamson in the fifth minute. Williamson played a cross for Pascarella, who scored into the left corner for the 1-0 lead.
The Mules responded in the second half, when Alyssa Rose scored off a Casey McDonnell save, that bounced back to Rose and she tapped it past the keeper for the score.
The rest of regulation was quiet as the contest entered the first extra session and then a second extra session. The Cougars missed opportunities in the second overtime with shots by Emily Jurcsek, Pascarella, Mallory Noordeloos and Kaitlyn Pallitto all failing to find the back of the net.
Pascarella and Kendall Machak took a match-high five shots, while McDonnell made five saves. Rose and Danni Steigerwald took four shots apiece, while Libby Juliano made seven saves in goal.
Head Coach Brian Doherty and the Cougars will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 21, hosting the #2 Lions of TCNJ at 1:00 p.m.
